Helping you take back control of your life

Are you ready to start working towards the life you want?

"Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway." Earl Nightingale

Welcome, and thank you for visiting Wishaw Counselling Service.

I'm Julie, and I'm a counsellor who helps people regain control of their lives by helping them recognise what is holding them back to be able to deal with it.

When things become difficult, it is easier to hope that things will eventually blow over, but this rarely happens without it leaving its mark on you in 1 way or another.

We can all go through tough times but sometimes it just feels like too much for 1 person to cope with. This can leave you feeling stuck, trapped or unsure of what to do, even questioning if there is anything that can be done.

The good news is that you don’t have to feel this way.

As a counsellor, I can help you work through your problems to find a way back to living the life you want.

If you’re ready to get back to living the life you want, contact me now to see how I can help.

I’ve helped hundreds of people just like you so please don’t struggle alone, get in touch today.

Are you unhappy with how things are?

Do you find that:

  • You’ve resigned yourself to “things won’t change”.
  • You tell yourself “others have it worse than me” yet it still doesn’t make you feel better.
  • Your past is hindering your present.
  • You no longer feel in control of your own life.
  • You feel disconnected from life and/or loved ones in general.

Would you like to:

  • Realise that things can change, you’ve just gotten worn down with the difficult stuff.
  • Stop the toxic positivity. There may be people with it worse than you but your stuff hurts too.
  • Deal with your past to allow you to be present in the here and now and maybe even start looking towards the future.
  • Take back control.
  • Start reconnecting with your life and loved ones.

My Services

Counselling and Psychotherapy

£50 for Individuals

Counselling & Psychotherapy provides you with a safe, confidential space to work through whatever issues you need to. You may be feeling stuck with your life and the therapy session allows you to explore this in more detail with the aim of getting an understanding of your situation. You may wish to work on current or past issues that you have experienced that are still causing you difficulties. You may want the space to work through anxiety, a loss, a bereavement, or life-changing situation.

Critical Incident Responding

£50 for 50 mins

I have extensive experience working as a trauma counsellor.

I am trained to respond to the immediate aftermath of a critical incident; a death in the workplace, a riot, an accident or any other event which has the potential to have an impact on the people involved or who witnessed the event.

The sooner people receive therapeutic help after these events can lessen the chances of long-term trauma.

Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)

£50 for Individuals

I have worked as an EAP counsellor for a number of years now.

Sessions can be delivered in person, on site or online.

Counselling provides a safe space for employees to discuss their issues without judgement.

In the therapy space thoughts and feelings can be expressed freely and in confidence.

Get in touch with me to discuss your company's needs whether it's for a few individual staff members on an ongoing basis, or an onsite counsellor for 1 or a few days.

Time Limited Counselling

£50 for Individuals

With Time Limited Counselling, you are still provided with the safe, confidential space to work through what you need to but for a limited number of sessions.

With this type of therapy we will discuss your needs at the start and will work together to in the best way possible within the time limits.

With this style we may be more focused on specific issues but will do our best together to resolve as much as we can during our limited time together.
